✓ Starpoint screwdriver (medium)
✓ screw containers
✓ small Starpoint screwdriver
✓ backlights tester (it could be 15 VDC power supply)
✓ soldering iron 30 watts max
We first have to put the TV flat on the screen on a flat clean soft surface.we then have to take our medium Starpoint screwdriver and start to unscrew and take out the screws holding the back cover.
✓ Now take off the TV back cover and put it on a clear safe place.
✓ now you will see two TV board which are the power board and the screen board well technically it is converter board.
✓ carefully unplug those two cables holding the screen and then take your Starpoint screwdriver and take out two screws holding the board.Neatly put it on a safe place.
✓ again very carefully take out the screen board and flip the TV facing up towards you and take small flat screwdriver and unclip the covers gently is the right word for this, until you get to the backlights strips. They may look like this:
✓ take your backlight tester and start to test each one individually before checking them in pairs.on my tv nine leds were blown but I did not bridge them I took the old blown one and put in the new brand new if i may add and after all new ones were put in and i started to test again.you better measure twice and cut once.now that all is good and good is all the backlights look like this…
Well done we are done. Now you should put back everything back without my help.i thank you @greatvince
This is a summary of LG DVD not switching on.detailed information about the DVD is yet to be announced.
✓unplug DVD from wall and take out seven screws holding the cover ✓remove the cover and put it on a safe place.put the screws in a safe container.
✓take out the power supply circuit board it is the one with transformer on it.
✓first check for any physical damage. Now you can check the fuse and then the bridge rectifiers or the four primary diodes right after the AC wire.
✓look also for dry joints underneath the power supply board.
My suggestion is to take the board as a sample and buy a new one believe me that board is the reason your DVD won’t switch on.
It is hardly that this board ever gets blown out in my case the big chip if was blown so I ended up buying two boards don’t make the same mistake or rather take your DVD to a qualified technician to help you out.
This is a brief description of Dixon 32inch led tv with sound but no pictures/images.
✓ TV comes on you hear people talking etc still no picture.switch the tv off and unplug it from wall socket.
✓ put the tv on a flat table with some sponge or something soft to protect the screen from any damage.
✓ now take your Starpoint screwdriver and take out the screws holding the cover.
✓ put the screws in a container and put it on a safe place.
✓ take off the cover and put it one side.
Youll see the main board This is what you should check.
✓ check for swollen or bulged capacitors.
✓ check next to where the screen plugs for any damage.look carefully
If everything is fine move on to step 2.
Remember this is a brief summary.now we go straight to the backlights.
✓ now look at the strips individually and carefully. Here we are looking for blown track.
✓ take your 12 volts(DC) charger and cut it in the middle and seperate the wires one is + the other will be – .take the -(negative) wire it is the one with white small dots and put the 470 ohm resistor there. The colors on the resistor are yellow violet brown then gold.
✓ on the backlight strip theres positive and negative.on the led there’s also marks of + and – just put your negative wire on the negative on the strip and put your positive wire on the positive spot.
*the led should come on when it is working and nothing when it is blown.
You will see and mark the ones that are blown and replace them with new ones or bridge them that is for temporary though.
